The one winning ticket in Wednesday’s $206.9 million Powerball drawing was sold in Pennsylvania, lottery officials said Thursday.

The ticket was sold at a Sheetz in Westmoreland County, the Pennsylvania Lottery said. The prize had yet to be claimed as of Thursday afternoon.

The winning numbers in the Aug. 3 drawing were 9, 21, 56, 57 and 66, and the Powerball number was 11.

The winner can choose to receive an estimated annuity of $206.9 million in 30 payments over 29 years or a lump sum of $122.3 million. Both options are before taxes, Powerball said.

Lottery winnings in Pennsylvania are subject to the 3.07% state personal income tax and federal taxes at 24%. The Pennsylvania Lottery automatically withholds taxes for winnings more than $5,000.

For selling the lucky ticket, the Sheetz store at 205 N. Center Ave. in New Stanton will receive a $100,000 bonus.

“The Pennsylvania Lottery congratulates the big winner and our retailer for selling this big Powerball jackpot-winning ticket,” Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko said in a statement.

The winner has one year from the date of the drawing to claim the prize and can visit palottery.com for information on that process. The lottery recommends the winner sign the back of the ticket.

The winner is not known until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated.

Lottery officials said the Powerball jackpot had been rolling over since June 29, when a $366.7 million prize was won in Vermont.

“This recent jackpot run generated more than $18.3 million in sales, creating a profit of $7.3 million to benefit older Pennsylvanians,” the Pennsylvania Lottery said in a statement.

Wednesday’s drawing was the first Powerball jackpot win in the state since a $456.7 million ticket was sold in Lancaster County in 2018.

The jackpot for the next drawing Saturday has reset to $20 million.
