Pennsylvania state government is hiring. Here are 5 of the highest paying jobs open now

The commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the second-largest employer in Centre County, just behind Penn State.

That’s according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, which ranked the state government in the No. 2 spot for the second quarter of 2022, followed by Mount Nittany Medical Center, the State College Area School District and construction firm Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc.

Chief of Psychiatry at Wernersville State Hospital

Salary: $214,651 to $253,146

Category: Medical/dental

Agency: Department of Human Services

Description: The chosen candidate will direct psychiatric services at the facility, assign psychiatrists to provide care, oversee policy and programs and more, according to the job’s description.
