What’s cooler? Mrs. T’s pierogies or Zippo lighters? Hershey’s Kisses or the Sheetz MTO?

Those are a few of the matchups in the Final Eight of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry’s “Coolest Thing Made in PA” tournament.

More than 20,000 people across the state have cast votes in the single-elimination bracket-style contest, which began in mid-March with 32 companies. Rutter’s iced tea, Seltzer’s Lebanon bologna and Eat’n Park smiley cookies were among the entrants that fell in Round 1. Crayola crayons, Martin’s potato rolls and Utz potato chips didn’t make it out of the second round.

Voting for Round 3 begins at noon Tuesday on the chamber’s Twitter page. Yuengling lager will look to advance past Musselman’s Applesauce, while the Primanti Bros. sandwich takes on Martin & Co. guitars in the other two matchups.

The semifinals will begin Thursday and the championship will be on Monday.

The winner gets bragging rights and free tickets to next year’s Economic Forecast and Business Leadership Summit, where they will be recognized.
