Inmate who escaped from Quehanna Boot Camp in Clearfield County apprehended by police

Police announced that the inmate who escaped from Quehanna Boot Camp in Clearfield County has been apprehended and is in custody.

Joshua D. Lackey, 35, was participating in the facility’s State Drug Treatment Program and escaped around 1:30 a.m Wednesday by exiting the rear door of the housing unit at about 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections wrote in a press release.

In an email at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday the DOC said that he had been apprehended, but did not provide further details.

Lackey was sentenced to 18-36 months in Westmoreland County for theft of movable property.

Quehanna Boot Camp, which opened in 1992 as the Department of Corrections’ first military-style motivational boot camp, was locked down while officials conducted an investigation.
