Woman doesn’t show up for work and is found shot dead, PA cops say. Husband charged

The discovery of a missing woman’s body in a Pennsylvania home has sent authorities on the hunt for her husband, according to police and media reports.

Police in Uniontown said 26-year-old Nicole Zambrano was found shot and killed in a home Monday, Jan. 1, according to WPXI. Dec. 24 is listed in court records as the date of the alleged shooting.

Zambrano’s co-workers reported her missing after she didn’t show up to her job as a housekeeper at the Nemacolin Woodlands resort for days, police told WTAE. Authorities began investigating Dec. 29.

“She was very prompt with work, always showed up,” Lt. Tom Kolencik told WPXI. “She hadn’t been there for three days, didn’t call off, so that prompted a check on the welfare at her home.”

When officers questioned her husband, Art Guty Jr., he gave inaccurate information about his wife’s disappearance, according to KDKA.

The woman’s body was ultimately discovered during the execution of a search warrant, police told WTAE.

Police are now searching for Guty, who is accused of killing Zambrano, according to the Herald-Standard.

Guty, 55, is charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault, court records show.

“We still have a little bit of work to do, but we’re certain we’re going to make an arrest soon,” Kolencik told WTAE.

Uniontown is about 45 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
