Trying to find a job in Pennsylvania? A new report from Forbes might help you find a premier company.

The global media company and long-running business magazine recently published its 2024 “Best Employers By State” list, which highlights the top U.S. companies “doing what it takes to retain their employees and keep them satisfied.” According to Forbes, companies do not pay a fee to participate in its rankings.

With the help of market research firm Statista, Forbes surveyed more than 160,000 employees at companies with at least 500 workers within the U.S. Survey participants were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10, in addition to evaluating recent employers and organizations they know within their industry.

In its report, Forbes said the industries earning the most spots among 2024’s best employers include retail and wholesale, health care and social services, education, banking and financial services and government. Public sector jobs in Pennsylvania generally provide strong pay and benefits, and some positions even offer remote work or employment opportunities to those without a college degree.
