Smiley pup abandoned outside Pennsylvania shelter — and has been there for 845 days
A sweet dog in Philadelphia isn’t letting being without a home get to her sunny disposition — even though she’s been waiting 845 days for one of her own.
Gwen, a 6-year-old terrier, pitbull mix, was discovered abandoned outside of the Pennsylvania SPCA over two years ago, the shelter said in an Oct. 27 Facebook post. But despite her hardships, she won’t let anything damper her giddy personality.
“We didn’t know exactly what her past had looked like, but we knew that her future would be so much brighter. Sadly, she just hasn’t found her happy ending yet,” the shelter said in the post.
According to the shelter, she looked as if she had recently had puppies, but underweight.
Other than that, she’s a playful girl with lots of love to give.
“This energetic and affectionate dog embodies the perfect balance of playfulness and cuddliness,” her pet profile says. “With a zest for life, she delights in every opportunity to romp around and engage in lively play sessions. Yet, when it’s time to unwind, Gwen’s favorite pastime is snuggling up close to her human companions for some well-deserved affection.”
She also adores other dogs — especially ones her size so they can play together.
“Gwen is open to meeting older kids, enjoying their company and participating in cuddle sessions together. With her infectious energy and loving demeanor, Gwen is sure to bring endless joy and warmth to the lucky family who opens their hearts and home to her.
