Here’s how PA bourbon lovers can score limited-release bottles of Weller, more
Pennsylvanians looking to get their hands on limited-release bourbon — including a coveted $7,500 release — will have the chance to secure one this month.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, the state’s regulatory agency for spirits, is offering more than 3,700 bottles via drawings open to the public and retail licenseholders. Winners will have the opportunity to buy a bottle from that lottery with pickup at Fine Wine & Good Spirits locations.
This year’s selection of limited-release bourbons include Weller Millennium, a recent experimental launch from Kentucky’s Buffalo Trace Distillery, retailing for $7,500.
Those interested have until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 to enter the lotteries, which are restricted to those with Pennsylvania billing addresses, among other conditions, according to the PLCB. In addition to individual consumers, the lottery is also open to spirits licensees.
The drawings will be held the week of Monday, Aug. 11.

How can I submit my information for the limited-release lottery?
Pennsylvanians have until 5 p.m. Friday to enter the lotteries. In all, there are nine lotteries for 10 varieties of whiskey.
To enter, you can create an account with Fine Wine & Good Spirits online.
Entrants must create an account, have a Pennsylvania billing address and be at least 21 years old. Entries are limited to one per household, but entrants can submit for more than one lottery. You will be required to provide a Fine Wine & Good Spirits pickup location as part of the submission.
“Entries will be vetted for duplicative names, addresses, and other information, and duplicates will be deleted from the lottery pool,” the release states.
Under Pennsylvania laws, bottles purchased cannot be resold without the proper license, the PLCB says.
The PLCB has conducted similar summer lotteries for rare bourbons in recent years. More information about the summer limited-release lotteries is available online.
