Centre County school districts announce delays due to icy road conditions
Centre County schools issued two-hour delays after an unexpected icy start to Tuesday morning.
State College, Bald Eagle, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola area school districts all announced a delay, along with Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory through 9 a.m. Tuesday, with freezing rain expected and total accumulations of a light glaze. The NWS warned of potentially hazardous conditions that could impact the morning commute, with “very slippery” sidewalks, roads and bridges possible.
