Centre County is under a winter weather advisory — again. What you should know

For the second time this week, Centre County is under a winter weather advisory.

The advisory continues through 7 a.m. Saturday, with total snow accumulations expected between 3 and 5 inches, with lower amounts in the valleys and higher amounts on the ridges, according to the National Weather Service. The snow is expected to be heaviest during the afternoon and evening.

The last winter weather advisory occurred Monday.

Both NWS and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation have also warned motorists about potentially slippery road conditions. PennDOT issued a news release early Friday morning, advising motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and reiterating that speed restrictions could be possibly implemented later in the day.

More snow is expected from Sunday through Tuesday, according to AccuWeather.

This is a breaking news story. It will be updated with any cancellations or speed restrictions.
