Snow falls in Centre County from major winter storm hitting the US. What’s next?
Early Saturday morning snow led emergency responders in Centre County to warn about poor road conditions as a major winter storm hits the Midwest and East Coast.
No winter storm watches or warnings have so far been issued for Centre County, which NOAA’s Storm Severity Index predicts will see limited or minor impacts from a storm that’s expected to affect 1,300 miles of the United States into early next week. But snow-covered roads and lake effect snow bands on Saturday morning caused Centre County 911 to post on Facebook about poor road conditions and snow squalls.
Accuweather predicted as much 2-4 inches of snow in the area by 9 a.m. An afternoon snow flurry is possible but road conditions are expected to improve Saturday afternoon.
Another 1-3 inches of snow from the storm is possible on Monday, according to Accuweather.
