Halloween in Centre County could be as chilly as it will be chilling.
Forecasts say daytime weather will be wet Friday, Oct. 31, with an 80% chance of rain atop 20-plus-mile-per-hour wind gusts. AccuWeather warns unsecured decorations can be blown around.
Milder weather should set in and the sun will set by trick-or-treating hours, but colder temperatures will also prevail. High 30s or low 40s in State College are expected, plus a breeze. Low temperatures are about 10 degrees cooler than last Halloween.
Trick-or-treating times in Centre County for 2025
5 to 8 p.m.: Snow Shoe Township trick-or-treat
6 to 8 p.m.: Trick-or-treating in most other municipalities

There are no set trick-or-treating hours for Burnside, Curtin, Liberty or Worth townships, according to Centre County 911.
The department stated on Facebook that Curtin residents typically follow Howard Township, Liberty residents go to Beech Creek Borough in Clinton County and Worth residents follow Port Matilda Borough.
