With severe weather forecast in the area, a tornado watch has been issued for Centre County

With severe weather in Monday’s forecast across parts of Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for areas including Centre County.

Isolated hail is possible, and wind gusts up to 70 mph are likely, according to the NWS. The watch is in effect through 6 p.m.

Power outages are possible, and heavy rain could result in isolated, minor flooding, according to the NWS.

The last time Centre County had a confirmed tornado was May 2017 in Rebersburg. The tornado had estimated winds of about 110 mph and a nearly one-mile path.
