Enough to make you want a drink
We know next to nothing about the proposed Nestle plant to bottle and sell water from the Spring Creek watershed. And yet two CDT letters have already appeared supporting this “wonderful” operation from this “wonderful” company. It appears the Nestle charm offensive has already begun.
But we do know how Nestle, the largest food and beverage company in the world, has treated other small, rural communities when they want to profit from their water. And we do know the environmental pollution left behind by the entire bottled water industry.
While we wait for the next letter telling us how wonderful Nestle is, those who want to know the rest of the story should read the book “Bottled and Sold” by Peter Gleick. Or check the website billmoyers.com and read how “Nestle is Trying to Break Us.”
It’s enough to make you want to take a drink ... straight from your kitchen tap.
