Consider all facts about ESAs
Saturday’s commentary about Educational Savings Accounts (CDT, 1/27) was very misleading. Educational Savings Accounts are private accounts funded by individuals for their own children.
The question is not whether these accounts will cost the public school system money (they do not), but whether parents should be allowed to use their own money for the K–12 education of their choice, as well as for college education.
Will allowing this cause the public schools to lose some students? Probably. Are parents in our country free to choose and guide their children’s education as they see fit? Absolutely. Please consider all the facts about this issue.
