I refer to the article about the sentencing of former PSU administrators Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz on the front page of the June 3, Centre Daily Times by Jeremy Hartley.
Berks County Senior Judge John Boccabella distinguished the PSU administrators as “good people who made a bad mistake” from other individuals in the criminal justice system as being “criminals.” I am a member of the Centre County Chapter of the PA Prison Society and visit inmates incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility. These inmates request visits from us regarding issues that need attention from the prison administrators. I must object to the judge’s comment.
Let me refer the judge and others to the Quaker testimony that “There is that of God in every one.”
