I’m a ‘dreamer,’ too

There has been a lot of use of the word “Dreamer” in the news lately. Well, although I’m retired, I’m still a dreamer:

I have a dream that when a president gives his word, he lives up to it. (“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.” “I will repeal Obamacare in the first 100 days.”)

I have a dream that you don’t spend what you don’t have ($20 trillion in debt).

I have a dream that a person is not measured by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. (Although assistant professor Jeanine Staples, as reported in the CDT, 9/6, said, (white supremacy) “rests in the soul of almost every American.”

I have a dream that America is the protector of the helpless. (Yet, we have a government-subsidized organization that aborts fetuses and sells their body parts.)

I have a dream that Americans have equal protection under the law. (Except if your name is Clinton and the FBI is headed by James Comey)

I have a dream that we can elect representatives who love their country more than their position.

I suspect there are others who have similar dreams. They were recently known as the “deplorables,” I thought they were just my countrymen.

Dan McIntire, Boalsburg
