Thoughts about walls
From the History Channel: “Shortly after the German invasion of Poland, in September 1939, more than 400,000 Jews in Warsaw, the capital, were confined to an area of the city that was a little more than 1 square mile. In November 1940, this ghetto was sealed by brick walls, barbed wire and armed guards, and anyone caught leaving was shot on site.” Anything we can learn here?
And to quote some lines from “Mending Wall” by the celebrated American poet, Robert Frost:
“Before I built a all I’ll ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall.”
And finally, a quote from another American:
“We don’t need no stinking wall.”
