The value of a first impression
I am excited about the possibility of the State College borough electing Michael Black as mayor. I have known Michael since 2010, having met him through his commercial advertising company while I was managing a local bank downtown. First impressions mean a lot to me and his entrepreneurial passion, creativity and professionalism really stood out. He listened to our needs, offered up suggestions and communicated regularly resulting in a quality marketing piece. I’m pleased to say my first impression of Michael has become my second, third, fourth, etc.
When I heard he was running for mayor I was very pleased. I know Michael can bring business to downtown as he is a businessman here. I know he can balance business development with thoughtfully maintaining the integrity of our attractive neighborhoods. I am confident he can do all of this while focusing on keeping our borough safe. Michael lives by his core values and I know he can help enhance the State College downtown experience for residents and visitors alike. We have had quality mayors in the past like Bill Welch and Elizabeth Goreham. Let’s continue our progress with another great mayor, someone that has walked the walk as a student, resident and successful downtown business person. I’m not saying the other candidates don’t have value, I don’t know them so I don’t know the job they can do. I know Michael Black and what he can do!
