Black committed to State College

I am sending this letter in enthusiastic support for Michael Black in next month’s mayoral election. State College will always hold a special spot in my heart. It is where I lived for many years, established a pediatric practice, developed some of my most cherished friendships, and why what happens here still matters so much to me.

Michael Black knows what makes State College unique, and his professionalism, creativity and passion for community service make him the ideal candidate to be its mayor. Along with this town, he has grown over the years as a student, a business leader, a community activist and a devoted family man. Whether promoting the local art scene, nurturing youth sports or being there for a neighbor in need, Michael Black is committed to making State College a better place to live.

Michael Black is the leader State College demands. For nearly three decades, I have witnessed his rare blend of supreme intelligence matched by common sense and empathy. He is intellectually curious as demonstrated by his diverse friendships and past experiences. His creative ability to think outside the box is unmatched. Black is a tireless worker who is not afraid to question the status quo. Like all successful problem solvers, he will identify the root cause, investigate solutions, solicit varied opinions, facilitate consensus, and finally energize a team into action.

Michael Black has been a special person in my life, and I have no doubt he will be an outstanding mayor for State College!

Terry Murphy, Boston, Mass.
