Black cares about people, community
This mayoral election is very important for the future of our town.
I have known Michael Black since 2004 when he sold me a home. My first impression was that he and his wife are friendly and caring individuals. When we agreed on a purchase price, I offered to write a check. Michael said, “A handshake is good enough for me.” I was a little uncomfortable, but agreed.
The next day Michael called to say he received two higher offers. I expected he wanted me to match the highest offer. He said, “integrity means a lot to me, the house is yours at our agreed amount.” I just shook his hand, and he honored it. Most would have wanted the highest offer.
I learned over the years that his entire family cares, not only about their friends, they care about people and the community. They want to include all residents in the decisions that will make our lives better. They show empathy if you’re wealthy or not, for the elderly, and the students.
Michael told me how much he has enjoyed the campaign, getting to meet so many outstanding residents, and learning about the needs of our borough.
The reason I decided to write this letter was to share my respect for Michael, so others can gain an insight of an individual who will work for our community, and represent all residents.
