My congressman, Glenn “G.T.” Thompson, told Derrick that he was a bipartisan representative working across the aisle to get things done for his constituents. Obviously, this was not the case when he voted to take health care away from my brother.
My brother is a Type I diabetic who has extremely high medical expenses. His life-saving medical supplies and equipment are very expensive, but at least he can get expensive insurance with the existing Affordable Care Act.
The House health care replacement bill supported only by Republicans and by Thompson would have taken away any insurance for my brother. The substituted high-risk pools they suggested would have been prohibitively expensive and he would have been bankrupt or dead.
I think his claim of bipartisanship is bogus and an outright lie.
