Protect local public water resources
I’m responding Scott Good’s letter, “Nestle news exciting way to start 2018” in the Jan. 9 issue of the Centre Daily Times. Is Good aware that the CEO of Nestle has stated that people don’t have a “right” to water? Is he aware that Nestle has taken water from California during the recent years of drought and that residents of Michigan are fighting against it now?
How can anyone applaud the building a manufacturing facility in our community? Public water resources should be protected for the benefit of local residents rather than sold to a multinational bottled water company for profit. Protect Centre County’s essential spring, ground and surface water by preventing this company from establishing a manufacturing facility here.
