Commentary insulting to America

If the countries cited in Mr. Tounsel’s commentary (CDT, 1/22) are so successful and, apparently, financially well off, why are their people clamoring to abandon them, as he did? Would it not be better for these countries if their people would stay there and reap the rewards of their progress that were cited? No, they leave those countries because they are racked by oppression, poverty, disease and decay. They escape those conditions by fleeing to the United States, and then feel free to express contempt for anyone that criticizes the “homeland” they abandoned. To claim that the American people are incapable of furthering Americas success, without the aid of Africa is insulting. But I guess that is the goal of the commentary, to insult the United States because of what you think (because you don’t know) President Trump said.
