Thompson should be a part of the solution

It’s the beginning of a new year, and it’s heartening to know that clean energy is more productive in the Keystone State than it has ever been before. Recently, the Nature Conservatory released two reports which revealed a $9 billion market potential for clean energy in Pennsylvania. Out solar and wind industry has grown exponentially, and is quickly outpacing fossil fuels in profits and job potential. It is clearer than ever that clean energy is the best direction for our earth, our health, and now our economy.

And yet, our representatives in Washington continue to remain willfully blind to these facts. Congressman Glenn Thompson has yet to acknowledge these issues are even worth learning about, despite the many tools at his disposal to become informed. One of the best tools is the House Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus. The caucus comes with no voting obligations, and instead focuses on informing its members of the diverse challenges climate change presents, as well as multiple ways to prevent it. Knowledge of these issues which affect Pennsylvania so profoundly is vital for our representatives whom we rely on for our state’s health, sustainability and economic progress.

If you agree that Thompson should educate himself and join the Climate Solutions Caucus, you can call his Washington Office at 202-225-5121, or his Bellefonte office at 353-0215.
