Letters: Stop the insanity, vote Republican; Democracy on line in November

Stop the insanity, vote Republican

Recent CDT letters prove that the propaganda being spewed by the Democrat Party (led by the ever-feckless President Joe Biden) and its left-wing media allies are working. In the Oct. 12 edition, four writers regurgitated Democrat propaganda by claiming that Republicans hate democracy, women’s rights, and just about everything else.

Of course, these letters are nothing but political rants by misinformed people who have allowed themselves to be distracted from the one issue that really matters — the economy.

Why do these writers avoid the economic issue?

Because the Democrat Party, the party they support, is responsible for driving this county into an economic abyss.

One economic statistic, inflation, proves this point.

When former President Trump left office, the inflation rate was 1.4%. With Democrats in charge, the rate increased to a near 40-year high of 8.2%.

Inflation, driven in part by the Democrat war on fossil fuel, has translated into higher prices for everything — including food, gasoline, heating/cooling, home mortgage rates and electricity. These increases, coupled with declining real wages, are devastating retirees and lower-and middle-income Pennsylvanians.

Remember, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Democrats have proven their ineptitude. Therefore, why should a single Democrat candidate be rewarded with a seat in any federal, state, or local office?

Stop the insanity. Voters must elect Republican candidates Dr. Oz for U.S. Senate, Steve Yetsko for State Representative, and Doug Mastriano for Governor.

Democracy on line in November

Your vote matters like never before.

If you value democracy, vote for Democrats Josh Shapiro for Governor and John Fetterman for U.S. Senate. MAGA acolytes such as Doug Mastriano and Mehmet Oz have hijacked the Republican Party, endorsing positions that are anti-democratic, anti-science and xenophobic.

MAGA Republicans pledge to change the results of the 2024 presidential election if they don’t like the outcome. Mastriano says he’d decertify voting machines if he doubts the results — and he’d allow a partisan state legislature to pick presidential electors. He denies that Biden is our elected President.

MAGA Republicans don’t trust women to make their own health decisions. If elected, they’ll ban abortion, without exceptions. Mastriano declares women’s control over their bodies to be “ridiculous nonsense.” Oz says abortion at any stage of pregnancy is murder.

MAGA Republicans don’t respect our country’s diversity. Mastriano calls the separation of church and state a “myth.” Oz, a Turkish citizen who voted in Turkey’s 2018 presidential election, wants to build a wall at the border.

MAGA Republicans call climate change “fake science.” They rail against crime, but oppose reasonable gun control and investments to reduce crime. They want to eliminate the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), but have no plans to replace it.

MAGA Republicans will dramatically change our country. They’ll roll back rights, censor information they don’t like, and make decisions based on fear.

Prevent that nightmare. Vote for Shapiro and Fetterman. They value truth and science, and will protect our democracy.

Mastriano’s hypocrisy

A recent Spotlight PA article published in the CDT on Oct. 4 was both informative and an enjoyable read. In the article state Sen. Doug Mastriano suggested that he had “respect for the environment.” He considers himself a steward of the land. Yet, he claims that global warming is an “academic fabrication.” That’s some pretty rich BS right there!

Mastriano’s website makes no mention of climate change, or renewable energy. How can one be a steward of the land, yet want to destroy it? What hypocrisy. It’s too bad the farmers in Mastriano’s county, Franklin, can’t use his BS to fertilize their fields. He certainly spews out enough of it.
