Best interests of constituents ignored

I read in an Associated Press article that the Pennsylvania legislature was close to finalizing negotiations to revise the pension system for state employees and teachers. More importantly, I also read in the same article that they included a provision in the same legislation to keep all their retirement benefits in tact.

In my judgment, after holding the people of the Commonwealth hostage with no budget for the past five-plus months, this is an unconscionable action! Every single one of our legislators, all representatives and senators alike no matter which party, should be held accountable for this action when they next are running for re-election if they voted for this provision!

We need people representing us in Harrisburg who truly and honestly have the best interests of their constituents at heart even when it may not be in the best interest of the legislator.

What they just said to the public is that their future financial needs are more important than the people who work tirelessly to educate our children (and theirs, too).

It’s time to stop this insanity!
