Government is failing veterans
Our government is neglecting our veterans’ health care and benefits.
We have good VA health care facilities, but we also have some bad ones. These are the ones we have to correct — now, not later.
We build new prisons, state of the art. The criminals don’t have to wait for health care or meals. Murderers, rapists, pedophiles, drug lords: nothing but the best for them!
Yet nothing for the thousands of veterans who are homeless, can’t get medical care, can’t get food, can’t stay dry, can’t stay warm. What kind of justice is that?
The poor management of the VA health care system is the responsibility of the president, for he is the commander in chief of all the military.
It’s carved on the walls: “Let us take care of them who have borne the brunt of battle.”
So far, our government hasn’t been living up to that commitment. It seems that given all the things wrong with VA health care that someone should be fired. But no one gets fired at the federal level; they just get reassigned.
The president needs to put the whistleblowers in charge. They know what’s wrong, so they also know what’s right.
