Thanks to local road crews

Centre County was spared the worst of last week’s winter storm but did not escape unscathed.

Thankfully, our municipal and PennDOT road crews worked tirelessly throughout Friday night, Saturday and Sunday to keep the roads, highways and bridges safe for all of us.

While most of us tried to hunker down and avoid dangerous conditions, these men and women must venture out and stay one step ahead of the storm — whether it’s ice, sleet, 1 inch or 20 inches of snow, they are working straight through until the job’s done.

To all our road crews, I thank you for the work you do and for the time and energy that you put into keeping our commutes safe year-round.
