Why does the media insist on continually publishing the pictures of stupid people?
The CDT included a picture of the Kansas shooter in Saturday’s paper. For what reason? Stop making stupid people famous. Print the name and move on, never posting the picture again.
The San Bernardino husband-and-wife killers are dead but continually have their pictures posted. What does this accomplish months later? Other potential killers might see this exposure as favorable, which might lead them down the same path with disastrous consequences.
Is the media creating additional problems by this over and over again exposure? You need to visit this issue editorially. Is it reporting the news or amplifying the problem by continually posting the pictures of the stupid people?
A little restraint by the media would “stop making stupid people famous.”
