If the Toll Brothers company is allowed to build luxury student housing along Whitehall Road on land that is the recharge area for water well fields, it will compromise the water supply for many State College residents. In the future, if our pristine drinking water has to be treated, it will be the taxpayers of Ferguson Township and State College, not Toll Brothers, who will have to pay for the damage to our water supply.
It is also important to note that this elaborate development will have a detrimental impact on the farms along Branch Road. These beautiful Centre County farms, which are downhill from the proposed building site, already have flooding problems that will only be worsened by more development.
If you are concerned about this proposed luxury student housing development, there is a legal fund, CommunityWise, fighting for safe drinking water in our town.
