Yet another column by someone involved with Leadership Centre County 2016 raves about Centre County but fails to mention Bellefonte.
The most recent column (CDT, 4/28), while claiming to be about the arts in Centre County, is a Centre Region-centric piece that suggests it is the center of the arts.
Granted the Palmer Museum is a great place, but its focus is not local (nor should it be). In addition to the Green Drake in Millheim, the Art Alliance in Lemont and the Zola Gallery in the former CDT building, let’s not forget the Bellefonte Art Museum, which exhibits mostly local artists on a rotating basis in five galleries. In fact, one of its current shows exhibits work from our high schools and is titled “Class of 2016 Art Show — The Future of Art in Centre County.”
The Bellefonte Art Museum is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:30 p.m. I would urge everyone to check out the Bellefonte Art Museum, and I would hope that it’s on the syllabus for the next class of Leadership Centre County.
