Letters to the Editor

The right to publish

I am writing in regards to your publication of “Stick to the facts,” the letter from Anne W. Caldana that appeared on May 21.

Mrs. Caldana’s letter shows little regard to real facts. She writes that there is no way that Joe Paterno could be guilty of allowing the abuse of children to happen simply because he was a Christian.

As a Christian myself, I know that a person being one does not prevent them from wrongdoing. We have all heard the stories about abuse in the Catholic Church, for example. She accuses the CDT of writing fallacious material while she writes fallacious material of her own.

Joe Paterno’s legacy does not defend him from investigation, and the CDT has the right to publish the information related to such an investigation.
