Headlines from Orlando over the weekend read, “The worst shooting in American history.”
But perhaps, one could argue, “The worst shooting in American history” occurred in a Connecticut grade school a few years back, or the many other disastrous events that preceded or followed it.
But, really, “The worst shooting in American history” has been the Republican congressional shooting down of any attempt to pass sensible gun-control legislation.
How very sad.
Is this really what our Founding Fathers meant when they included the constitutional amendment, “the right to bear arms”?
