Letters to the Editor

Saying thanks

My dad is 86 years old. He served in both the Army and the Navy.

A couple of weeks ago, as he was checking out at the Giant grocery store, the gentleman behind him thanked him for his service and paid for his purchases.

Dad was so flabbergasted — no one had ever done that before. He wasn’t even sure he remembered to say “thank you.”

So, whoever you are (and I hope you read the CDT), a heartfelt “thank you!” from both of us.

Deborah Lutz, Boalsburg
