This is a year of milestones for AAUW State College!
First, we are celebrating our 100th year as an organization. And in May, we experienced our top-dollar-raising Used Book Sale at the Penn State Snider Ag Arena.
Our thanks go to the community members who donated books, thousands of book sale shoppers, and hundreds of community volunteers who helped. In sum, we grossed more than $150,000 at the sale.
Afterward, we were proud to distribute almost $90,000 of sale proceeds to support community grants and projects that advance equity for women and girls. We also awarded four major scholarships to some very worthy returning adult women students.

Another milestone is the opening of our Used Book Workshop in a wonderful new space, located at 176 Technology Drive in the Boalsburg Technology Park.
The workshop is staffed Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m., and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During workshop hours, donors may bring donations to the door and ring the bell for assistance. There are blue donation bins at the driveway entrance for other times.
We’ll have a special Book Drop-off Day at the workshop on July 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donors can deliver books to the door and workshop tours will be offered.
Thank you for helping us in our mission to advance equity for women and girls. Learn more at www.aauwstatecollege.org.
