C-NET interviews with candidates now available to watch online

An educated and engaged citizenry is the foundation of our democracy. In an effort to provide information about candidates for public office, C-NET, the local Government and Educational Access Network, produces interviews each election with candidates on the ballot. All candidates in the covered races are invited to participate, including third-party candidates, who appreciate the opportunity to present their ideas.

C-NET is a nonprofit organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. Membership currently consists of 16 member organizations. The municipalities of Bellefonte Borough, College Township, Ferguson Township, Halfmoon Township, Harris Township, Patton Township and State College Borough; the Bellefonte and State College area school districts; Centre County Government, the Centre Region Council of Governments, Penn State, Schlow Centre Region Library, the Centre Region Parks and Recreation Authority, the State College Borough Water Authority and the University Area Joint Authority. These organizations provide the funding and other support necessary for all of C-NET’s programming, including the candidate interviews.

C-NET first began producing candidate interviews back in 1994. The C-NET director hosted the interviews for the first few years, but it wasn’t long before local journalists began developing the questions and conducting the interviews. For the upcoming 2022 general election, interviews were conducted by Anne Danahy, WPSU reporter, and Geoff Rushton, managing editor of StateCollege.com. These journalists volunteer their time and talent to C-NET, and we are most appreciative of their commitment to voter education.

We would like to thank the candidates who accepted our invitation and were willing to answer questions and provide insight into their positions on various issues. The participating candidates for the 2022 general election included:

  • Dan Wassmer, U.S. Senate, Keystone Party

  • Richard Weiss, U.S. Senate, Green Party

  • Mike Molesevich, U.S. House, PA 15th District, Democrat

  • Glenn GT Thompson, U.S. House, PA 15th District, Republican

  • Joseph Soloski, PA Governor, Keystone Party

All of the interviews for 2022 are now available to watch on C-NET’s website, cnet1.org. The interviews will be televised on C-NET Channel 7 at the following times:
