Centre County Baseball League

MacNamara’s 2-hitter leads Clarence to win

Ryan MacNamara pitched a complete-game two-hitter in the Clarence Mounties’ 3-1 win over the Philipsburg Spike Island Pirates in Centre County Baseball League action Tuesday.

MacNamara struck out nine and walked four in the effort, adding an RBI double from the plate. An error and a Ryan Guenot RBI fielder’s choice took care of the Mounties’ other runs. Bryce Greene added two singles and Chuck Probst also doubled.

Matt McCamley’s RBI triple accounted for the lone run off MacNamara.

Peppers power past Hawks

Pleasant Gap pounded out 13 hits, including three each for Doylan Deitrich and Ben Tate, in a 14-1 thumping of Howard.

Two of Tate’s hits were doubles, and he knocked in two runs. An eight-run fifth was the big inning for the Peppers. A two-run single for Deitrich highlighted the frame.

Jeff Herlocher gave up just four hits in the five-inning game for the win.

American Legion

Mathieu powers Bellefonte to win

Logan Mathieu’s two-run home run in the third inning proved to be the difference in Bellefonte’s 3-1 American Legion baseball win over Beech Creek on Tuesday at Governor’s Park.

Dylan Deitrich tripled in the first inning and scored on a wild pitch for an early Bandits lead, but Beech Creek tied it when Tanner Corl doubled and scored on a Talon Falls single.

Adam Armstrong gave up four hits in the complete-game win.
