Pirates’ offense rolls over Coyotes in County League
The Spike Island Pirates erupted for an 11-run first inning, and Josh Potter tossed a two-hitter, in a 12-0 victory over the Clarence Coyotes on Monday in Centre County Baseball League action.
Potter struck out seven and didn’t walk anyone, allowing only a pair of singles to Jeff Bennett.
The 11-run frame was highlighted by two-run singles for Jesse Martin and Derek Shaw and an RBI double for Drew Bryan before it was capped by Matt McCamley’s grand slam.
Parker Watson tripled and scored in the third inning to complete the scoring. Shaw finished 3-for-3 at the plate.
