State College’s Haley Crawford leading way for James Madison soccer

Haley Crawford, a State College graduate, is the leading scorer for the James Madison women’s soccer team.

The sophomore forward has five goals and three assists for 13 points, including the team’s only goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to George Washington on Sunday night. Crawford played all 100 minutes in the game for the Dukes (5-4).

Football

Peyton Edwards (Sate College, Juniata) assisted on a tackle for a 13-yard loss to help get the ball back for Juniata with 3:28 left in a 35-28 loss to Ursinus. For the season, Edwards has eight solo tackles and five assists, one sack for minus-2 yards, 2 1/2 tackles for loss for 11 yards and one forced fumble. Juniata is 1-2.

Nick Gray (Philipsburg-Osceola, Juniata) has seven solo tackles, two assists and a sack for minus-8 yards.

Aaron Boumerhi (P-O, Temple) kicked a 52-yard field goal against UMass in a 29-21 win Friday night. The Owls are 2-1

Cameron Tobias (Penns Valley, Lock Haven) has completed 43 of 75 passes for 434 yards and seven interceptions. He also is averaging 32.43 yards per punt on seven punts. Lock Haven is 0-3 after losing to Slippery Rock 33-7 Saturday night.

Kahsim Buey (State College resident, Lock Haven) has caught two passes for 13 yards.

Bryan Greene (Bald Eagle Area, Lock Haven) leads the team with both 15 catches and 137 receiving yards.

Nick Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) has kicked a pair of field goals in four tries and averages 26.2 yards on nine punts.

Pat Irwin (State College, Stony Brook) has played in one game but recorded no stats. Stony Brook is 2-1.

Taylor Collison (Penns Valley, Franklin & Marshall) has gained 104 yards and scored a touchdown on seven carries. He also has one tackle. F&M is 3-0 after edging McDaniel 43-41 Saturday.

Jon Seighman (State College, Lehigh) has five solo tackles. Lehigh is 0-3 after losing to Yale 56-28 Saturday.

Pete Haffner (State College, Lehigh) was named one of 35 finalists for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Chapter Scholar-Athlete Awards. The award is based on academic and athletic performance in high school, for athletes who are freshmen playing college football this fall. A national committee will name five winners Oct. 4.

Brett Graham (State College, UConn) is averaging 39.0 yards on seven punts. UConn is 1-1.

Soccer

Kyle Moerschbacher (State College, St. Francis) has taken five shots to date. St. Francis is 4-3.

Haley Giedroc (BEA, PSU-Altoona) has played in five games, starting one, and has taken three shots. Altoona is 1-4.

Jess Book (Bellefonte, Grove City) has played in three games and taken one shot. Grove City is 3-2.

Lauren Anderson (State College, Misericordia) has a goal and an assist. Misericordia is 5-2.

Mac Schailey (State College, Widener) has one assist. Widener is 2-2-2.

Saede Eifrig (State College, Haverford) has a pair of goals. Haverford is 2-2-1.

Volleyball

Taylor Leath (State College, North Carolina) has 110 kills, six assists, three aces, 73 digs and 15 blocks. North Carolina is 3-5.

Christine Irwin (State College, Juniata) has a kill, two aces, a dig and a block. No. 6 Juniata is 7-3.

Kayla Bracken (Penns Valley, Delaware Valley) has 44 kills, three assists, eight aces, 26 digs and eight blocks. Delaware Valley is 1-3.

Sydney McNulty (State College, Geneva) has 59 kills, nine assists, 15 aces, 88 digs and 21 blocks. Geneva is 3-8.

Vee Skripek (BEA, PSU-Altoona) has recorded 21 kills, an assist, five aces and 15 digs. Altoona is 2-7.

Olivia Meyer (Penns Valley, PSU-Altoona) has an assist and a dig.

Alli Henderson (Sate College, Kutztown) has 108 kills, 16 assists, 14 aces, 46 digs and 11 blocks. Kutztown is 5-7.

Laura Hildebrand (State College, Pitt-Bradford) has a pair of kills, 14 assists, six aces and 177 digs. Bradford is 4-9.

Field hockey

Lauren Bonness (State College, Michigan State) has a goal and an assist. Michigan State is 3-5.

Aiko Dzikowski (State College, Smith) has played in four games, starting one, and has no stats. Smith is 2-3.

Paige Meily (State College, Penn) has a pair of assists for the Quakers (2-3).

Cross country

Eli Urban (St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent) ran a time of 28 minutes, 59 seconds over five miles in the National Catholic Invitational at Notre Dame.

Josiah Stickles (Bellefonte, St. Vincent) finished in 29:43 at the meet at Notre Dame.

Grace Cousins (St. Joseph’s, Savannah College of Art & Design) placed 39th in 21:40 at the University of North Georgia Invitational.
