Wrapping up Monday’s high school sports day:

Boys’ basketball

St. Joseph’s edges Philipsburg-Osceola in boys’ hoops

The St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy boys’ basketball team held off Philipsburg-Osceola 55-53 Monday night.

The Wolves were 6 for 7 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and got two big 3-pointers from Carl Engstrom in the final period. Ethan Khoza led a trio in double figures with 14 points while RJ Marsh added 11 and Jack Mangene netted 10.

Ryan Whitehead scored a game-high 17 for the Mounties, and Dane Soltys added 13.

Girls’ basketball

Bald Eagle Area edges St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy

Bald Eagle Area managed to edge St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy 39-38.

Morgan Chambers’ eight points paced the Lady Eagles, with six each from Lacee Barnhart, Sarah Holler and Mariah and Rachel Veneziano.

Denaya Poston-Cooper tossed in a game-high 18 points for the Lady Wolves and Selena Mann added 14.

Brookville tops P-O

Halle Herrington netted 39 points, but it wasn’t enough in a 72-51 loss to Brookville.

Kira Powell’s 24 points and Morgan Johnson’s 13 led the Lady Raiders.

Kyliegh Kennedy added six points for the Lady Mounties.
