Howie Roseman Reportedly Plotting Major Eagles Trade Move Before 2026 NFL Draft

The A.J. Brown trade chatter hasn't gone anywhere, and neither has Howie Roseman's appetite to shake things up. Brown's situation with the Philadelphia Eagles remains unresolved heading into the offseason, with a potential deal still expected to come together on or after June 1.

But according to Adam Schefter, that's not the only thing Roseman has cooking. League sources believe the Eagles' general manager is already sizing up additional trade options as the 2026 NFL Draft gets closer.

One name that keeps coming up is Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard. Philadelphia has checked in on him multiple times this offseason and there's a belief those conversations could pick back up once draft weekend arrives.

Momentum has cooled recently, though and nothing is close to done at this point.

"One possibility is adding Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, whom the Eagles have checked in on at various points this offseason, per sources," he wrote. "The Eagles' wish list of trade candidates goes well beyond Greenard, per sources, though. Roseman almost always has a Plan A, B, C and D, and his team is one to monitor on one of the busiest weekends of the NFL calendar."

Around the league, none of this comes as a surprise. Roseman has made a habit of being one of the most aggressive front offices in the room when the draft rolls around. Other teams are already expecting Philadelphia to make noise when things heat up that weekend.

The Eagles have genuine needs across the roster that trades alone won't fix. Offensive tackle, edge rusher, safety, offensive guard, wide receiver and tight end all require attention. Those aren't depth concerns sitting at the bottom of the depth chart.

Their positions that directly affect how this team performs on both sides of the ball. The question now is how Roseman approaches it.

Does he go after established players through trades to keep the Eagles in Super Bowl contention right away, or does he use the draft to bring in young talent and rebuild the roster's long-term foundation?

Philadelphia's window is still open but the roster has real gaps that need answers soon. Draft weekend is coming. And if history is any guide, Roseman will not be sitting still when it gets here.
