Lewisburg moves closer to .500 with win
MUNCY - Lincoln Ayres and Colin Shannon combined on a two-hitter, and Landynn Bieber hit a two-run homer in a three-run third inning that broke a scoreless tie in Lewisburg's 7-1 win over Muncy in nonleague baseball on Thursday.
Landen Wagner tripled with two outs in the third before scoring on Ayres' single. Bieber followed with first-pitch two-run homer to give Lewisburg a 3-0 lead.
Ayres allowed just an unearned run in the sixth inning. He struck out six and walked three. Shannon struck out two in a perfect inning of relief in the seventh.
Nolan Altoft had an RBI single in the a four-run top of the seventh for Lewisburg (7-8), while a dropped fly ball with the bases loaded accounted for the other three runs.
Graden Dohl struck out six in the loss for the Indians (8-5).
