Muhlenberg's Cinderella run in the District 3 Class 6A baseball playoffs continues.

Cole Moody threw a complete game, two-hit shutout on Thursday as 11th-seeded Muhlenberg upset second-seeded Ephrata 2-0 in the semifinals.

The Muhls (14-7) will play fifth-seeded Chambersburg (17-6) for the district title at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Penn Medicine Field in Lancaster.

Chambersburg knocked off top-seeded Hempfield 4-1 on Thursday.

Moody struck out 11, giving up just the two hits and walking two. Both of Ephrata's hits were singles.

Muhlenberg scored its two runs in the top of the sixth with the big blow being Gavin Moody's run-scoring double.

The Muhls other three hits were singles by Cole Moody, Carter Burr and John Martin. Muhlenberg was also aided by Ephrata pitchers hitting four Muhls in the game.

Muhlenberg started the district tournament with a 6-3 win over sixth-seeded Manheim Township and then beat third-seeded Waynesboro 9-7 in the quarterfinals.

Hempfield (18-3) and Ephrata (16-6) play Wednesday for third place.

All four teams have qualified for the PIAA tournament which starts Monday, June 1. As the District 3 winner or runnerup, Muhlenberg would be in the bottom half of the bracket which includes teams from the central and western part of the state along with lower finishers in District 1.
