Up next: Only the District 2 champ moves into the state tournament and will play the third seed from District 3 in the first round June 1.
Breakdown: In a classification that has been dominated by Hazleton Area and Williamsport over the last decade, West Scranton enters the mix to try to unseat the champs. It's the first time West reached the Class 6A championship. The Lady Invaders last reached a district title game in 2022, losing, 1-0, to eventual state champ Pittston Area. In 2021, the Lady Invaders made a run to the state semifinals. … West's record is super deceiving. Out of its nine losses, six came to Abington Heights, North Pocono and Valley View - all teams playing in a district final. Add in nonleague setbacks to Dunmore and Mid Valley, also playing for district titles, and the Lady Invaders have one loss against a team that's not playing this week. … Senior Mia Tallo leads the team with a .469 average with 30 hits and 27 RBIs. Sophia Deluca and Sydney Williams combined for six hits in the win over Hazleton Area in the semifinals. Sophomore pitcher Kaleiah Connor has had a great year in the circle with more than 120 Ks. … Williamsport looks to defend its title, which included a win over West Scranton on Millionaire Mountain. Williamsport also played a competitive schedule with conference games against Central Mountain and Jersey Shore, and nonleague games with Loyalsock, Mifflinburg, Tunkhannock, Holy Redeemer, Bald Eagle Area and Montoursville. But the Millionaires have struggled against District 2, losing to Tunkhannock and Holy Redeemer. … The top three hitters in the Millionaires lineup - Emma Vollman, Kinsley Cannode and Brenna Beck - can do some damage, while No. 9 hitter Brielle Thorton had some success against Tunkhannock's Michaela Howell.

Breakdown: It's the third meeting this season between the two Lackawanna League Division I teams, and it's a rematch of last year's district championship. It's a similar situation to 2025 where Abington Heights swept the regular-season series, only to see North Pocono get its revenge in the district final. This season, the Lady Comets won at North Pocono, 14-4, and edged the Lady Trojans, 3-2, in nine innings in Clarks Summit. . … Abington Heights' lone loss came at Loyalsock. … The Lady Comets lineup has pop Nos. 1 through No. 9. Eva Kane is one of the top leadoff hitters in District 2 with a .493 average with 35 hits and 36 runs. Avary Brister looks to build on a résumé that should put her in contention for state Player of the Year. The junior is hitting over .650 with 49 hits, 41 RBIs and 38 runs with 14 doubles and eight RBIs. Pitcher Adrianna Condrad, a Syracuse commit, has also been sensational, hitting over .500, while carrying a 14-1 record in the circle with a 1.24 ERA. … The Lady Trojans' five losses came to Abington Heights, Valley View, Pennsbury and Northwest Area. Northwest, undefeated from District 4, just won the Class 2A championship last week. … North Pocono has a young, but experienced team with a lot of sophomores and juniors in the starting lineup. Amelia Bell has handled the bulk of the pitching duties this year while sister Ariella works back from an injury. Amelia has more than 100 Ks on the year, and is 15-3, while hitting over .400 at the plate. Ariella pitched in the second Abington Heights game, holding the Lady Comets to two runs through eight innings. … Avarie Roscioli is one of the top sophomores in District 2 as she's hitting .547 and leading the Lady Trojans in runs (22), hits (25) and RBIs (19). … In last year's championship game, Isabella Forgione and Amelia Bell combined for four of the team's seven hits, while Ariella Bell entered in relief to get the win.

When: Wednesday, 6 p.m.

Up next: Only the District 2 champ moves into the state tournament and will play the runner-up from District 3. There, No. 1 Kennard-Dale (20-0) faces off with No. 3 Northern Lebanon (19-3).
Breakdown: It should come as no surprise that the Tigers and Cougars are back in the title game. It's the fifth-straight year Tunkhannock will face off with Valley View, holding a 3-1 edge. This will be the last time for at least two years, though, as Tunkhannock is in Class 3A in the new PIAA cycle. … Tunkhannock is still pretty young, a mainly junior-laden team, and will look to make noise for the next few years. … The Tigers are undefeated against District 2 teams with the lone loss coming to Chardon of Ohio, which is in its state's regional semifinals. … Leadoff hitter Addisyn Waterman recently broke the school's career record for runs, while Makenzie Bevan smashed her 10th and 11th home runs to break the single-season record held by Paige Marabell. … Waterman is a stolen-base machine with 80 career swipes and is a force from the leadoff spot with a .478 average with 32 hits and 43 runs. … Freshman pitcher Michaela Howell has been lights out with a 21-1 record, an ERA of 1.81 and 189 strikeouts…. While the Cougars lost Kalli Karwowski (Penn State) and Taylor Cawley (Binghamton) off last year's state championship team, Valley View is still really powerful. Leading the way is Clemson commit Abbi Call, who hasn't allowed a run in the postseason. She's 13-2 with a 2.28 ERA. She's just as good at the plate, hitting over .650 with 33 hits and 31 RBIs - including seven home runs. The Cougars also have two other Division 1 commits with Ella Swingle (LeMoyne) and Zoie Krupovich (Bryant). Head coach Mia Wascura, the winningest coach in University of Scranton softball history, is 2-0 in district title games since taking over Valley View, and only lost one game in the postseason in two years.

Up next: Only the District 2 champ moves into the state tournament and will play District 4 champ Northwest Area in the first round June 1. The undefeated Rangers shut out Wyalusing, 3-0, to win the title there.
Breakdown: There will be a new champ in Class 2A as Dunmore eliminated Holy Redeemer, 8-7, in the semifinals. Dunmore eyes its first softball title, while Montrose looks to add a district crown to its Lackawanna League Division III title. … The Lady Bucks have a 5-4 victory over Montrose this season. The Dunmore-Holy Redeemer game was a classic with Dunmore jumping out to a 7-1 lead, Holy Redeemer tying it at 7-7 and the Lady Bucks' getting the game-winning score on Rachel Walsh's sacrifice fly. … Walsh and Paige Ancherani form a nice one-two punch in the circle. Walsh has more than 400 Ks in her career, while Ancherani threw a three-inning perfect game against Mountain View in the quarters, and battled out of a two-on, no-out situation in the seventh to clinch the semifinal victory. … Of the Lady Bucks' six losses, only one came against a team not playing for a district crown. … Walsh leads Dunmore at the plate with a .444 average with 32 hits and 30 RBIs. … Montrose is kind of a mystery. The Lady Meteors rolled through Division III, but lost to both Dunmore and Riverside, Division II teams. … Montrose beat Elk Lake in the semifinals, and found some good balance in the lineup. Kyleise Kublo drove in three runs, while Libby Bush had three hits and scored three times. Cara Evans had two hits, and Alyse Legg drove in two runs. Alayna Mott twirled a five-hitter with five strikeouts.
