10 area players earn all-state baseball honors, three first-teamers
Three area players earned first-team selections on Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association 2026 all-state team announced Friday.
In Class 1A, Rockwood senior infielder Nathan Show earned first-team honors. In Class 2A, Bishop McCort Catholic senior catcher Jon Delia and Conemaugh Township senior outfielder Colin Dinyar each nabbed first-team spots.
Show batted .520 with 10 doubles and three home runs for 9-10 Rockwood. In 19 games, he had 18 RBIs, 29 runs, 15 walks and 23 stolen bases on 25 attempts.
Delia batted .489 with five doubles, two triples and four home runs for the 13-8 Crimson Crushers. He drove in 17 runs and scored 20 times in 16 games, overcoming an early-season injury. The Pitt-Johnstown signee was a 2024 second-team selection.
Dinyar posted a .538 batting average on a 19-1 Conemaugh Township squad.
The versatile multi-position player and pitcher smacked eight doubles, four triples and three homers.
Dinyar, the two-time Somerset County MVP and Pitt-Johnstown signee, drove in 29 runs and scored 28 times. On the mound, he went 7-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 452/3 innings. He struck out 68 batters and walked 20.
Five area players were named to the Class 1A second team, including three from Meyersdale.
The Red Raiders had junior pitchers Aiden Thomas and Carter Vogt and sophomore infielder Cole Yoder on the second team.
Thomas posted a 1.56 ERA with 68 strikeouts and 16 walks in 63 innings and 11 appearances. Opponents batted .201 against him. At the plate, Thomas batted .317 with five doubles and a homer.
Vogt had a 1.14 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 12 walks in 49 innings in 10 appearances. Opponents hit .205 against Vogt. He also batted .317 with 24 RBIs and 13 runs.
In 22 games, Yoder batted .397 with 29 hits, 24 runs and 16 RBIs. He collected nine doubles, two triples and two homers.
Blacklick Valley junior pitcher Eli Sheesley and Northern Cambria senior pitcher Reese Wagner also were second-team picks in 1A.
Sheesley went 7-3 with one save and a 1.53 ERA in 592/3 innings. He struck out 85 batters and walked 21 for 10-9 Blacklick Valley. Sheesley had a .483 batting average with five doubles, 12 RBIs and 18 runs.
Northern Cambria's Wagner went 5-2 with a 2.49 ERA in 45 innings. He struck out 70 batters and walked 33 on a 14-7 Colts squad.
At the plate, Wagner hit .345 with 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
Windber senior outfielder Lucas Rummel made the Class 2A second team, and Somerset senior pitcher Colt Hagans was a second-team selection in Class 4A.
Windber's Rummel registered a .368 batting average with three doubles, three homers, 33 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
He stole 17 bases for the 16-7 District 5-2A runner-up Ramblers. On the mound, Rummel went 3-1 with 29 strikeouts and 15 walks.
Somerset's Hagans went 8-2 with two saves and a 2.37 ERA for the 16-6 Golden Eagles. He struck out 71 and walked 21 batters in 65 innings. Opponents batted .221 against him. Hagans will play at NCAA Division II Walsh University.
