WPIAL softball trio chosen for prestigious national all-star game in Indiana
Three WPIAL standouts have been selected to play in a prestigious travel softball all-star game.
Pitcher Bria Bosiljevac of Shaler, shortstop Lauren Howard of Hempfield and catcher Lily Duffill of Chartiers Valley were picked for the sixth annual Alliance All-Star Game set for July 19 at Kokomo High School in Kokomo, Ind.
The game, which features the best Class of 2026 players in the nation, will air live at
6 p.m. on ESPN Plus.
There are two 20-player rosters, American and National. Bosiljevac and Howard are on the American team, whereas Duffill will suit up for the National side.
An 830-player watch list was announced in November and was narrowed to 40 by a selection committee.
Howard, who will play at Virginia, helped Hempfield win WPIAL and PIAA 6A championships and capped a record-breaking career in the process. The TribLive Westmoreland Girls Athlete of the Year hit .432 with eight doubles, four home runs and five triples while driving in as many runs and she scored (38).
Howard (Team Pennsylvania Hall) finished with team records for career hits (140), triples (13) and runs (132) and tied for first in RBIs (100).
