NBA Legend Charles Barkley Had a Good Reason for Declining Travis Kelce Wedding Invite
Charles Barkley is one of the most well-known sports personalities today. The NBA Hall of Famer has a stacked resume from a 16-year NBA career.
Barkley is an 11-time NBA All-Star, one-time NBA MVP, one-time rebounding leader and five-time All-NBA First Team selection, among other accolades.
After his playing career, he became a sports analyst and became one of the most talked-about people in basketball media. That is why there is no question he is known to many non-sports celebrities.
One of the most anticipated events in the entertainment and sports worlds happened on Friday. Pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelcecelebrated their wedding at Madison Square Garden.
More than a thousand guests were invited, including Barkley. The NBA icon revealed that he received an invite during his guest appearance on the "Unfiltered With Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo" podcast.
The two-time Olympic Gold medalist admitted, however, that he decided not to attend.
"I don't go to weddings," Barkley said. "I don't go to weddings or funerals.
"But I did get an invite, and I politely declined. 'Cause I thought it was gonna be a crap show."

Barkley said he loves Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, but that he has only met Swift once. He also explained why he didn't go to the wedding.
"I said, ‘Hey, you know what, that's just too much,'" said Barkley. "I just wanna hang out and play golf, and I don't wanna dress up and all that other stuff.
"I appreciate the invitation. It was pretty special."
While that might've sounded too straightforward for some, Barkley is known for that kind of candor.
