Clarence Mounties win County Baseball League opener

Clarence used a five-run sixth inning to help the Mounties lock up a 10-4 victory over the Pleasant Gap Peppers on Tuesday evening in Centre County Baseball League action.

A two-run single for Chuck Probst, one of his four hits on the day, highlighted the big inning as the Mounties sent 11 batters to the plate in their season opener at Governor’s Park.

Kalen Gearhart added a two-run single in the first inning for the Mounties (1-0), Bryce Greene collected a pair of singles and John Schall had a single and double. Justin Koleno earned the win.

Devin Alterio hit a two-run double during a three-run third inning for the Peppers (0-1), who committed five errors on defense. Dan Roan took the loss.
