Williamsport stops late State College rally

The Little Lady Lions tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh, but ultimately fell to Williamsport 7-4 on Wednesday afternoon. It was the team’s final game of the regular season.

Hannah Shields suffered the loss after throwing 3 1/3 innings with nine hits and seven runs allowed alongside a walk and two strikeouts. Mikayla Aldenderfer earned the win for Williamsport with seven innings pitched, four runs off seven hits and three strikeouts.

State College’s Avery Cymbor went 2 for 3 at the plate with a home run, but the team struggled with consistency against Aldenderfer’s arm.

The Little Lady Lions wrap up their regular-season schedule with a 9-8 record.
